I live in a future 
of my youth
not at all
what I imagined
Certainly not
what I intended  
to look forward to.

this ruse
wasn't planed,
this deviation
not a success  
nor happiness
as billed.

Thought it was
automatic,
a piece of cake
a walk in the park.
Thought everyone
was entitled to win.
